The Miss World official website also shared the news and had sweet words for her. "Kiki passed away in her sleep, and according to her children, she left peacefully, comfortably, and well cared for," the Miss World website wrote.
The President of the Miss World organization, Julia Morley, shared the sad news on the competition's fanpage: "We send our deepest condolences to the family, sending love and prayers to Kiki's loved ones at this time.
Kiki was a pioneer and deserves a place in history as the first Miss World. Memories of the first beauty queen will be honored, and Kiki Håkansson will always remain in our hearts."

Kiki Håkansson (born in 1929) grew up in Sweden. She won the Miss Sweden World pageant in 1951 and later won the Miss World 1951 crown.
She was also the first Miss World to wear a two-piece swimsuit when she was crowned. This was criticized by some countries with religious traditions.
Starting from 1952, the competition switched to more modest swimsuits. The swimsuit display was later reintroduced to the competition, but Kiki Håkansson remains the only one in history to wear a two-piece swimsuit while holding the Miss World crown.
According to the Miss World organization's summary, Kiki Håkansson is one of the longest-reigning Miss Worlds. She had a reign of 475 days (about 16 months).
