"Normally, I would have set off the alarm bell, but strangely I forgot this time. Therefore, only the store's camera system recorded all the images and sounds as the 3 burglars broke in from 1:15 to 4:30 on the morning of June 26," Thuy Nga recounted.
From the camera footage, the thieves carefully covered themselves, wore masks, and did not reveal their faces.
Speaking to a Dan Tri reporter, Thuy Nga said that after the incident, she reported it to the police for investigation. It is estimated that the value of the stolen bird's nest is over $2,000 USD. However, the female artist also had to spend about $3,000 USD to repair the iron door that the thieves had damaged.
The artist said: "I was not the first person to arrive at the store. Someone else arrived first, discovered the incident, and then informed me, which made me a bit panicked. Fortunately, the thieves did not vandalize, only took things, so the damage was not significant."
Thuy Nga also shared that she is currently very busy with her bird's nest and fruit business, so she does not have time to return to Vietnam and "run shows." "I am so busy that sometimes I cannot accept shows because if I do accept, I have to travel to other countries for a long time and I cannot neglect my business," she said.
According to Thuy Nga, she and her daughter Nguyet Cat are leading a peaceful life in the US. The artist revealed that her daughter is very obedient, gentle, and affectionate. The girl is independent at an early age, helping with household chores. Thanks to that, Thuy Nga can focus on her work and business.
Thuy Nga was born in 1976 in Quang Tri, graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City Stage and Film School. In 2000, she joined the Phu Nhuan theater group of People's Artist Hong Van. In 2003, Thuy Nga and Quoc Thuan established their own comedy group, participating in the Gala Laughter program.
Thuy Nga got married in 2010, gave birth to her daughter Nguyet Cat in 2011. In 2015, she announced her divorce. Thuy Nga is a single mother in the US. She bought a house in an area with a high population of Vietnamese people living there.
