The Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 pageant final took place on the evening of August 3 in Binh Thuan, with the ultimate victory going to the beautiful Vo Le Que Anh. The first runner-up, second runner-up, third runner-up, and fourth runner-up titles went to Le Phan Hanh Nguyen, Vu Thi Thu Hien, Lam Thi Bich Tuyen, and Pham Thi Anh Vuong, respectively.

However, this result did not satisfy the majority of viewers and sparked controversy on social media because many people assessed Que Anh as having the weakest performance in courtesy among the top 5 contestants.

Specifically, Vo Le Que Anh received a question from Miss Doan Thien An about the role of women in the past and present: "Throughout history, Vietnamese women have made significant contributions to the cause of protecting and building the country. Can you share your thoughts on the role of Vietnamese women in history and today?"

The beauty queen born in 2001 answered somewhat hesitantly: "From ancient times, the image of women in Vietnam has been very resilient and heroic, as evidenced by the historical stories of the Trung Sisters, Lady Trieu, but I want to talk about the image of modern Vietnamese women today.

Modern Vietnamese women are contributing to many aspects of society such as participation in the state apparatus, scientific research... In addition, modern Vietnamese women still uphold traditional values, take care of their children, and educate them.

Today, Que Anh stands here with a dream to represent the image of modern Vietnamese women. That is the goal in Que Anh's future."

Que Anh's courtesy was criticized as vague, not getting to the point, and lacking specific evidence. Additionally, when answering, Que Anh hesitated multiple times, stumbling and failing to show confidence.

Furthermore, Que Anh did not respond in a bilingual manner like some other contestants in the top 5, disappointing the audience. Many expressed concern that with such poor courtesy skills, Que Anh would find it difficult to achieve high achievements for Vietnam at the upcoming international stage.

In various groups and forums discussing beauty queens, viewers also expressed dissatisfaction, stating that aside from her poor courtesy performance, Que Anh's appearance was also considered not in line with the common criteria for Miss Grand.

One comment said: "Que Anh has a bright face, but not very sharp. She does not speak well and is not as passionate as the usual criteria for Miss Grand International."

Another person mentioned that throughout this year's Miss Grand Vietnam competition journey, Que Anh was quite lackluster and did not demonstrate much allure. Therefore, her surprising entry into the top 5 caused confusion. "Yet after the worst courtesy performance in the top 5, she still won, can't understand."

Speaking to Dan Tri reporters, Miss Ha Kieu Anh - Head of the Miss Grand Vietnam judging panel - stated that the judging panel had to convene twice during the final night to determine the final result. Ha Kieu Anh assessed Que Anh as an intellectual girl, from a scholarly family background, with excellent language skills, being able to speak both English and Korean.

"In terms of experience, Que Anh may not be as good as Hanh Nguyen (First Runner-Up), but she has the right balance between the criteria of a beauty queen. We should give her time to prove herself," Ha Kieu Anh said.

Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Miss Grand Vietnam Organizing Committee - affirmed that Que Anh meets all the criteria of a beauty queen such as a suitable face and figure, talent in singing, dancing, good English communication...
