After nearly 1 year of settling in Canada, since the end of May, actor Huynh Dong and his wife have taken their son back to Vietnam for summer vacation combined with work.
Sharing on social media, Huynh Dong said that for over 2 months, he has been taking his son to visit relatives, friends, and family. Returning to his homeland, the male artist expressed his happiness when spending time with his family, enjoying Vietnamese dishes after being away from home for a while.
Miss Vietnam, actress Ai Chau, said that both sides of the family were delighted to meet their grandchildren. She and her husband took the opportunity to enjoy their favorite dishes such as pho, bun bo, bun thit nuong, bun mam, canh chua, ca kho, banh uot, durian, rambutan... During the summer vacation, Happy, the son of Ai Chau and Huynh Dong, also gained weight thanks to having fun, eating, and resting comfortably.
During this return to Vietnam, Huynh Dong also participated in some artistic projects. He went to Tien Giang to film a TV show with Lam Vy Da and Hua Minh Dat. The male actor also appeared in the movie "Ancestors" by Huynh Lap.
Huynh Dong shared his feelings when returning to acting after a period of absence: "I am happy to have meals with the film crew. It's like a dish that I've been craving for but couldn't have in another place. When I return to my hometown, I finally get to eat what my mother cooks for me. Art is the job I have pursued and been chosen, guided by the Craft Guild. After a temporary hiatus to take care of my family, when I came back to filming, I felt the excitement as if I were getting my first role as a student again."
Huynh Dong and Ai Chau also reunited with many close colleagues, attending some events such as Trung Quan's music night, Midu's wedding. "Meeting fellow artists is very lively," Huynh Dong said.
On July 23, the actor couple organized a birthday party for their son Happy, celebrating his 9th birthday. The party took place in a cozy atmosphere, with the participation of relatives from both sides. Ai Chau said that their son is obedient and affectionate. Happy has been exposed to English from a young age, so he has no language barrier when settling abroad.
Huynh Dong and Ai Chau plan to stay in Vietnam for the rest of the summer vacation before returning to Canada. The actor said he enjoys a peaceful life, not too bustling in Vancouver. "We are introverted, so we choose a current location that is not too noisy and hectic but calm just as we want," Huynh Dong said.
The actor's family moved to Canada to settle in July 2023. The celebrity couple lives in Vancouver, pausing their entertainment activities in Vietnam to invest in business with friends in Canada.
During the initial period of settling abroad, Huynh Dong and Ai Chau spent time learning about the lifestyle, culture, and adapting to the climate of the country. The couple often takes their son on outings, explores some traditional festivals, visits tourist attractions, and enjoys the beauty of nature.
In late October 2023, the actor's family went on a week-long "road trip" by car. They traveled through many provinces in Canada, enjoying the autumn air and famous tourist destinations.
Happy quickly adapts to the educational environment in Canada. Huynh Dong and Ai Chau enroll their son in a school near their home, about a 10-minute drive away. Regarding the future direction of their son, Huynh Dong said that Happy likes to be an actor, but he wants his child to develop naturally because the art profession also requires serendipity.
After 9 years of marriage, Huynh Dong and his wife still have a happy marriage. The couple's home often receives many positive comments from the audience. "Marriage is a long road and every day is a challenge. I always love and give my family trust. The biggest argument between me and my wife is that she is always 5cm taller than me. But now with raised shoes, I'm at the same height. Just kidding, I accepted this long ago.
