In a conversation with a reporter from Dan Tri, actress Van Dung once shared that if she becomes a mother-in-law in the future, she would be a very understanding and relaxed person.
"I know how to please my daughter-in-law, whatever she wants, I will provide! I think when you have a daughter-in-law, the first thing is to love her first, then she will love you. Because I didn't give birth to a daughter-in-law, I can't force them to love me.
What is important is that they love my son, which is different, and they will love me as a result of my behavior. I don't have a daughter, so I love having a daughter-in-law in the house even more," actress Van Dung shared.
When asked about the criteria for choosing a daughter-in-law, Van Dung said she likes a daughter-in-law who knows how to behave and live independently.
The actress said: "My daughter-in-law doesn't need to be beautiful. I just need her to know how to behave, know how to do business. Women should go out to work, even if the salary is 500,000 dong, 1 million dong, it's fine. When you go to work, you will have friends, social interactions, meaningful living, instead of staying at home cooking and washing dishes to serve your husband and children, and then making 100 jealous phone calls to your husband.
Women who don't work don't have money to spend, every time they want to buy something or give money to their parents, they have to ask their husband. That would be very miserable. In short, when the son works, the daughter-in-law also works, everyone should go out into society, support each other more than just one person working. If you're busy and don't have time to do housework, then hire someone to help.
I always think women are inherently more disadvantaged than men. Therefore, women should go out into society and have their own things. Don't rely on men."

Actress Van Dung said she is happy that her son Long Vu loves the profession and is passionate about it. However, initially, the artist opposed his son studying art because he was afraid his son would suffer.
"I like my son to study technology. I even spent 3 nights analyzing career orientations for him, but he concluded: 'Do you know how hard I have to try to finish high school to strive for the Theater and Film School? Don't extinguish my dream'.
My son said that, so I respect his opinion. I told him to follow the profession, and if he is poor, how to suffer is up to him. He then asked me if my grandparents advised my mother like that, and I said yes. Then he asked me again, 'Why did you still pursue the profession and have what you have today?' I pondered and concluded: It's up to him!", Van Dung told Dan Tri reporter.
The actress also revealed that Long Vu has a personality of few words, few shares, and confides in his mother. However, every time he comes back from filming, her son often "talks endlessly, non-stop."
"I think my son loves the profession more than me, is more passionate about the profession than me. His way of thinking about the job is totally different from mine, like I think right, and he thinks left.
But I don't impose because the way young people think is different from us in the past. I can guide what I know, but I can't explain, teach my child things I don't know. So I think parents should not be conservative, should listen and create a foundation for their children to develop," Van Dung confided.
