NSND Trung Anh was born in 1961 and is a veteran actor of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre. However, he is best known for his roles in television series such as "Marriage in the Narrow Alley, The Judge, Come Home, My Dear, Return to Love, The Days of Sunshine, Battle of Wits, Us 8 Years Later," and more.

Although the male artist has become familiar and beloved for his roles in television series, he confesses that his love for the stage always burns strongly within him.

Trung Anh received the title of NSND in 2019. In 2021, he retired from the Vietnam National Drama Theatre after 43 years of dedication.

While achieving success in his career and earning the admiration of friends and colleagues, few people know that his childhood was filled with sadness and trauma.

In 1968, at the age of 7, Trung Anh witnessed the tragic deaths of three women who were dearest to him - his mother, aunt, and older sister - in a bomb attack.

After the funeral, he and his relatives traveled over 400km from Duc Tho (Ha Tinh) to Hanoi to find his father and older brother. NSND Trung Anh recalls the arduous journey of the 7-year-old boy during wartime, hiding and crawling in piles of hay and grass along the roadside for who knows how many days, enduring great hardship.

Trung Anh does not remember how long the journey lasted, only knowing that they would keep going until they reached their destination.

Later, his second older brother recounted the image of meeting his younger brother in Hanoi - a scrawny little boy wearing an iron helmet, a long military shirt down to his knees, a dust-covered face appearing at the door.

"Back then, I was still a child so I didn't fully comprehend the enormity of the loss. I just knew that due to my family's circumstances, I grew up very introverted, unable to express my emotions," he revealed.

The actor admitted that despite being an actor, he is not very talkative: "Many people say, why are you so reserved? But my personality has always been like that, I'm not intentionally being that way. I acknowledge that I am not good at communication, cannot speak eloquently, but I am sincere with my friends and colleagues."

NSND Trung Anh told Dan Tri reporters that his tough childhood days had shaped him into a strong, mature, and independent individual at an early age.

He later auditioned for the Vietnam National Drama Theatre and became an actor there. He considers himself lucky to have found a profession that suited him and kept his passion alive until retirement.

NSND Trung Anh shared that many people believe retirement would leave him feeling lost and sad, but he doesn't feel that way. He is still busy teaching college students on a daily basis.

"Many people warn me to be careful, that retirement might cause a shock and depression due to having too much free time. But I'm still occupied, I don't feel like I'm retired. Currently, I still teach at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Hanoi and work on film projects," the father of Son in the TV series Come Home, My Dear shared.

At the age of 63, NSND Trung Anh enjoys peaceful days with his family. He mentioned that if he's not filming, teaching, he would be at home, reading books, and tidying up the house.

"Like many retirees, I enjoy reading books and watching football matches. If Manchester City is playing, I never miss a game. In the morning, I wake up early, take care of the plants, brew tea, and admire the view of the new day. I don't drink beer, wine, and avoid crowded places," he shared.

Actor Trung Anh confessed that he is a instinctive person, but still a caring husband. As an actor, he often works with young colleagues, but his wife is never jealous and is very understanding of his work.

"Back when we were dating, I used to take my wife to the film set to see how hard the actors work. Once, I played a role where I had an intimate scene with a beauty queen, and I reported back to my wife. I also share to help my wife understand more.

As an actor, I have had many female fans express their feelings to me, they even message me on Facebook, but I usually don’t reply to avoid misunderstandings," he said.
