After getting divorced and becoming a single mother, Hong Nhung now lives happily with her German boyfriend, architect Gerhard Heusch, and their two children.

Before getting together, Hong Nhung and Gerhard Heusch were friends for 10 years. They shared interests in architecture, sports, and more. Their relationship blossomed in 2020, with full support from family and friends.

Hong Nhung has often brought her boyfriend to friendly gatherings with friends. Having lived in Vietnam for a long time, Gerhard Heusch has a good understanding of Vietnamese culture and the art world.

Hong Nhung shared that she and her boyfriend have no plans to get married, but both cherish this relationship.

Hong Nhung told Dan Tri reporters that she moved back to Vietnam from France over a year ago. Her two children, Tôm and Tép, also moved to Ho Chi Minh City to attend an international school.

"In HCMC, I am closer to my father. Even though I invited him many times, he declined to live with me and the kids. He only wants to stay in the building but not in the same house, so I had someone stay with him at night. My kids really enjoy living in Vietnam and have integrated well. The only thing is that this Christmas, the kids asked me to go back to France to visit, and I agreed," Hong Nhung said.

The diva shared that her two children are at the rebellious age, sometimes defying her like not letting her take pictures, not allowing her to post on social media, staying inside their rooms, refusing to go out for meals, and saying "yes" to everything but not following through.

"When I speak in French, the two of them say to each other 'Mom's talking again.' Sometimes when I scold them, they say, 'Run away, mom is talking about the past again.' They know all the stories I tell," Hong Nhung revealed.

The diva mentioned that when she, along with her three children, returned to Vietnam, her boyfriend was also busy with his work. He is currently working on designing a house for the president of an African country, two large projects in Beverly Hills, USA, and a new penthouse for her in Thao Dien, HCMC.

"We are in a long-distance relationship and don't put pressure on being together often. Every day, we talk on the phone. He also enjoys talking to the kids. Tôm and Tép want to talk to him a lot because he is very caring, understanding, and teaches them things that I may not know well...", Hong Nhung candidly said.

When asked, "With such a distance between you and your boyfriend, are you worried that the feelings will fade over time?"

Hong Nhung said, "I have experienced enough so I am not worried about anything. I don't doubt him either. Gerhard Heusch worries when I work too much, which could affect my health. Especially, my boyfriend is not jealous."

Hong Nhung said her boyfriend is her spiritual support, her life companion. However, the diva mentioned that she has no plans to get married but will nurture and cherish the relationship with her boyfriend in her own way (Photo: Facebook).

The singer, originally from Hanoi, also shared that her boyfriend is a very artistic person, intelligent, and knowledgeable.

"He has a strong love for the arts and has opened up a new world for me. He also led me into his world, where if I had gone alone, I might not have gone as deep," Hong Nhung revealed.

Born in 1970, in an intellectual family in Hanoi, Hong Nhung has had a brilliant career and a significant influence, earning her the title of the diva of Vietnamese music, alongside Thanh Lam, My Linh, and Ha Tran.

From a young age, Hong Nhung showed talent in literature and foreign languages, but her biggest passion was for music.

At the age of 10, Hong Nhung auditioned for the Hanoi Children's Palace. At 15, she won her first major award, the gold medal at a national professional performance competition.

Hong Nhung successfully performed songs by many composers such as Van Cao, Duong Thu, Tran Tien, Phu Quang, Quoc Trung, Bao Chan, Quoc Bao... However, her name is closely associated with composer Trinh Cong Son.

During his lifetime, composer Trinh Cong Son also had words of praise for her.

"Hong Nhung sings my songs in a new way. Some people may not like it, but I do. It helps my music become relevant to the times rather than just reminisce about the past," the composer shared.

He affectionately called Hong Nhung "Bống" and composed three songs specifically for her: Bống bồng ơi, Bống không là Bống, Thuở Bống là người.
