At this point, she is being true to herself, showing her true character that people want to see. But it also signifies a challenging emotional journey.
After announcing on December 23, 2023 that Blackpink declined to renew their solo contracts with YG Entertainment, the members each found new management companies. Rosé was the last member to find a new home as she signed a contract with YG's The Black Label.
Making the decision was quite difficult as Rosé didn't have a specific plan for the future. But at this moment, she affirmed: "I have to bet on it and only trust the decisions I have made."
On September 16, Rosé revealed that she signed a contract to release the album Rosie with Atlantic Records - the recording company for many famous artists like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Charli XCX, and Bruno Mars.
Reflecting on the process, the singer emphasized the carefulness she put into each step. "Those were the right decisions I made, and I'm satisfied with that," Rosé said.
She worked continuously for many days and enjoyed personal hobbies instead of attending events as a star. She learned to live as herself and explored the person deep inside.
In creating Rosie, Rosé has been recording for the past year with producers and songwriters. The album's tone is completely different from the upbeat song APT..
The themes of the songs are heavier as she paints a story of a broken love.
Rosé revealed: "Being in your 20s is not easy to live. It's the age where you are vulnerable and confused, excited and angry about life. That's what I want to express through the songs."

Rosé admitted that she has a bad habit of reading negative comments late at night. This has led her into a cycle of negative emotions.
She disclosed: "I realize I am easily hurt and addicted to the online space, craving for love and understanding. I hate that about myself."
She writes music to express her wounds and emotions that she always wants to hide, but the truth "every word, every comment, crushes me."
Rosie is not only a debut full album but also a story of Rosé's challenging journey. At the age of 27, she has experienced various emotions to mature.
