Furthermore, Thuận constantly pressures her daughter Phương to study relentlessly, leaving no time for rest. Phương even once thought of doing something reckless and shouted "I hate you, mom" but was advised by others to remain calm.
Thuận also often stirs up trouble with her older brother about the family's nanny, causing tension within the family.
On social media platforms dedicated to film and television, viewers have expressed criticism of Huyền Sâm's portrayal of Thuận.
"I can't stand the look of Thuận, I hate her so much that it affects the actress too," "It's horrible to see a mother like this," "If I were Phương, I would have left home a long time ago, how can she stand such a mother..." are some of the comments about Thuận's character played by Huyền Sâm.
Speaking with a reporter from Dân trí, Huyền Sâm revealed that when reading the script, she knew that her character would be disliked and received mixed comments.
"I was aware that the character would be hated based on the script. After the episodes aired, I read comments about Thuận's character as well as praise for the actress.
However, some people still confuse the actress with the character, which saddens me because my dedication has not been properly recognized," Huyền Sâm shared.
The actress explained that she used to be given roles as kind-hearted characters like teachers or officials. She wanted to take on more diverse roles to explore her own limits, and the role of Thuận fulfilled that dream.
"In some scenes in the series, after acting, I felt... so satisfied, as I was able to fully express myself through my performance," Huyền Sâm said.
Prior to her role in "Hoa sữa về trong gió", Huyền Sâm often played roles in... flashbacks. In other projects, she typically portrayed supporting roles that passed away at a young age, to the point where people would ask, "How many times have you been memorialized?".
The actress stated, "Roles involving flashbacks have left a mark on me. However, I don't want to limit myself to a certain type of role. When given the role of Thuận, I saw it as an opportunity to stand out. I want viewers to see that Huyền Sâm can play various roles with different personalities...".
Regarding NSƯT Thanh Quý - who plays her mother in the series - Huyền Sâm mentioned that the veteran actress is warm, open, and willing to guide younger actors during performances.
"I was a student of Ms. Quý's so performing with her felt very natural. She always provided me with stimuli to enhance my performance. I feel lucky that my first different role was alongside Ms. Thanh Quý," Huyền Sâm shared.

The actress remarked that she doesn't pressure herself to become famous because everyone has their own destiny, but she always strives to complete her work to the best of her ability, respecting her own profession as an artist.
Huyền Sâm mentioned that her husband - NSƯT Đới Anh Quân - is a loving person who always cares for his wife and child. When she is busy with filming, he supports her by taking care of their child and doing household chores.
"Because we are in the same profession, we don't get jealous of each other. If we have any conflicts, he is always the one to make peace first," Huyền Sâm recounted.
