This is the third crown for Vietnam in the six largest beauty pageants in the world, after Miss Earth (Phuong Khanh won in 2018) and Miss International Peace (Thuy Tien won in 2021).

When she first won the beauty queen title, Thanh Thuy received mixed opinions about her appearance, being said to look more like a hot girl or teen model rather than a beauty queen.
At that time, Thanh Thuy admitted that she "was not accustomed to the pressure of being a beauty queen," and could not avoid mental fatigue from the criticism of netizens. Later on, she faced calmly, improved herself, and took the initiative to take care of her appearance.
"When newly crowned beauty queens, everyone will face mixed opinions. However, I think the judges made the right choice. I hope that everyone can objectively assess, recognize my efforts, and contributions," Thanh Thuy once said.
After the public reveal of her plastic surgery in March 2023, Thanh Thuy affirmed that she always cherishes her natural beauty, but will not hesitate to improve if necessary.
She told Dan Tri reporters: "I see that the changes in myself have received many compliments and positive feedback from viewers. That helps me feel more confident and motivated to enhance my own strengths."
