Hong Nhung, a diva, has undergone her third round of treatment for cancer, revealing her battle with the disease

Recently, singer Hong Nhung shared some images from her journey of battling cancer.

The singer revealed that since being diagnosed with the disease, instead of being busy with performances and excited about her birthday party, she embarked on a journey that "shook both her body and spirit."

"The journey began with horror and confusion, but at the same time opened up a deeper, more profound understanding of the value of life," she said.

Hong Nhung has started her third round of radiation therapy, and she also talked about how she told her two children, Tom and Tep, about her breast cancer. The singer was transferred back to Vietnam for treatment to be closer to her children.

"I receive thousands of messages from women who see me battling illness and decide to get checked. I visit the hospital, talk with other women. Going through airport security, a female employee reaches out to me with words of affection, a gentle touch, and warmth…," Hong Nhung shared.

Receiving that encouragement, the singer affirmed: "I know I am not alone."

Hong Nhung discovered she had cancer at the end of 2024 while she was in the middle of a live concert "Hong Nhung sings about Hanoi." At that time, she was taking medication, trying to maintain her work to not affect the project and her colleagues.

On January 22, Hong Nhung revealed for the first time that she had breast cancer. Initially, when she found out about the illness, she was shocked and wanted to keep it a secret, but after the surgery, she changed her mind.

"I want to share these images to provide encouragement for all women fighting breast cancer. I want to send them empathy, share hope together, that good things will come. We will be strong, overcome, and defeat this disease," the singer shared.

Hong Nhung was born in 1970 into an intellectual family in Hanoi. She has had a successful career and a deep influence, earning her the title of the diva of Vietnamese music industry, along with Thanh Lam, My Linh, and Ha Tran.

From a young age, Hong Nhung showed talent in literature and foreign languages, but her greatest passion was for music.

At the age of 10, Hong Nhung auditioned for the Hanoi Children's Palace. At 15, she won her first major award, the gold medal at the National Professional Performance Festival.

She successfully performed songs by many composers such as Van Cao, Duong Thu, Tran Tien, Phu Quang, Quoc Trung, Bao Chan, Quoc Bao...However, the singer's name is most closely associated with many songs by the late musician Trinh Cong Son.
