Văn TuấnRecently, on the program "Untold Stories", artist Xuan Hinh revealed his love story with his wife. The male artist shared that when he was young, he was very poor but had a way with words, so his wife chose him, even though at that time she was pursued by many wealthy men.
"At that time, I was not famous, still riding a rickety bike and managed to win over a girl who was a beauty queen on Hang Buom street (Hanoi), working as an accountant. I was handsome back then, just a bit short. 'The overseas Vietnamese from Bac Ninh', you could say. Maybe it was my looks that won over my wife," he jokingly said.
Xuan Hinh also shared that he and his wife started off as strangers but eventually came together to build a happy home, despite not getting along initially. He emphasized the importance of responsibility towards family and children, which motivated them to work together.
According to Xuan Hinh, he has never dared to argue with his wife. He always yields to maintain a warm home. When it comes to family matters, his wife takes charge, while he handles the bigger decisions.
He revealed: "In real life, she is easygoing, taking care of the household, children while I go perform. Many people ask: 'Does Xuan Hinh give all his money to his wife?' Honestly, I don't have enough money to give, whatever I have is spent on food, what else is there?"
The male artist further shared that because of his career, he travels a lot to perform but his wife does not get jealous. There were a few times when his wife joked around, and he responded with: "When I was young, I couldn't do that, now that we're older, what is she worried about?" and his wife, the comedian, would burst into laughter.
When their daughter got married, Xuan Hinh allowed her to choose freely. He said that the younger generation's approach to love is different, so he gently advises his children to take care of their own families.
When asked by the reporter if it was true that he was afraid of his wife, Xuan Hinh shared: "Yes, it's true, she takes care of food, clothing for me, without her, I would be lost when she's away for half a month. Calculate it, if you hire a nanny for 10 million dong, it still can't compare to my wife serving me food and water."
Also, according to the male artist, since they got married, he and his wife have an agreement that in any disagreement, his wife will be the first to apologize. For him, the one who apologizes is the winner, so no matter what, his wife always speaks up first.
"Women are light-hearted, psychological, when the husband is angry, just a few words and a hug from the wife, I instantly calm down. I don't argue with my wife, lift her spirits, let alone argue with her," Xuan Hinh chuckled.
Artist Xuan Hinh was born in 1960 in Bac Ninh. Even when he was studying at the Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, Xuan Hinh showed his acting talent. After graduating, despite being offered a teaching position, he declined because he wanted the freedom to perform on stage.
In 1988, Xuan Hinh's first success came when he participated in the famous clown act "Cu Sut" at the Laugh Festival at the Cultural Palace Vietnam - Soviet Friendship, receiving enthusiastic support from the audience.
From that success, Xuan Hinh continued to delve into traditional opera, comedy, and achieved remarkable success with a series of acts such as: "The fortuneteller going to the market, The clown following the fortuneteller, The clown baiting in a fight, Thi Mau going to the pagoda, The man-horse - The horse-man, Drunken husband nagging wife"...
Or a series of sketches that audiences will never forget, such as: "Xuan Hinh goes to propose, Xuan Hinh goes to the doctor, Xuan Hinh goes karaoke singing, Xuan Hinh practices for the beauty pageant..."
With the ability to sing various genres of music such as traditional opera, folk songs, ritual music... and a simple yet sarcastic acting style, Xuan Hinh's works always contain profound meanings revolving around life issues, garnering the love of many generations of audiences.
In 2016, he organized the live show "Xuan Hinh - The rustic jesting jester" to commemorate 40 years of dedicated artistic work. The performance brought a lot of special emotions to the audience.
Being considered the "precious" of the art world by NSND Hong Van, Xuan Hinh's early retirement in 2017 saddened many colleagues and fans.
Successful in his career, Xuan Hinh also has a happy family. His wife is Nguyen Phuong Lan, from Hanoi. The two met in 1993 and got married in early 1995. Previously, his wife worked as an accountant, but after getting married, she retired from accounting and focused on managing the household.
At the end of 1995, his wife gave birth to their first daughter named Bao Linh, who received a scholarship to study abroad in the US from the 11th grade. Currently, their daughter is married and preparing to become a mother. Their second son is named Xuan Quang, studying abroad in France.
