In addition to the Internal Political Security Department (A03) and the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (A05) under the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Cinema Association also sent this letter to many other central agencies, including the Vietnam Writers' Association, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Vietnam Cinema Association stated that sending letters to relevant agencies is the responsibility of a professional organization. The Association is responsible for protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members, in accordance with the charter approved by the competent authority.
In an interview with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of the Vietnam Cinema Association also emphasized that they always welcome the reporting of illegal activities by citizens, but it must be done within the framework of the law.
Reporting must be carried out in accordance with the correct procedures, with complete and verified evidence, to prevent the misuse of social media for fabrications, false accusations, and public disturbances.
"We need to clearly distinguish between reporting in accordance with legal procedures and disseminating unverified information that does not have an official conclusion from the competent authority.
Furthermore, spreading fabricated or manipulated information on social media is a violation of the law and should be strictly dealt with," the representative of the Cinema Association said.
The Vietnam Cinema Association expressed its desire to build a clean and positive online environment, based on strict adherence to the law. The Association calls on the online community to be responsible when sharing information, avoid wrongful acts, and contribute to building a civilized and healthy society.
Prior to sending letters to the relevant agencies, on April 17, the Association received a request for "protection" from artist Quyen Linh.
In the letter, Mai Huyen Linh (also known as MC, artist Quyen Linh, and Vice President of the Vietnam Cinema Association) detailed the situation that he and his family are currently facing.
According to artist Quyen Linh, he and his family (including his two teenage daughters) are being targeted by individuals using popular social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok to "attack" them.
Quyen Linh alleges that these individuals intentionally manipulate old images of him, creating connections to the recent controversy surrounding fake milk advertisements that have caused public uproar.
This behavior shows signs of violating the law and goes against current regulations.
Quyen Linh emphasizes that this behavior seriously violates provisions in Civil, Criminal, and Cybersecurity laws. Specifically, it includes regulations prohibiting the creation of false evidence for the purpose of incriminating others, as well as not sharing false or unverified information.
Not only does this behavior violate the law, but the image manipulation and dissemination of false information also seriously damage Quyen Linh's personal integrity, dignity, and reputation. It also negatively impacts the lives of his family, especially his teenage daughters.
Quyen Linh expresses his frustration and concern over this situation. He hopes that the authorities will intervene promptly to protect his and his family's legitimate rights.
In the afternoon of April 16, MC Quyen Linh officially spoke out on his personal page. He stated that recently, there has been misleading content deliberately linking him to the discovery and handling of nearly 573 types of fake milk products.
"Currently, I have no connection to any products in this case. The information being spread is untrue," Quyen Linh emphasized.
To protect his reputation and rights, Quyen Linh stated that he has taken legal steps such as collecting evidence, obtaining certifications, and preparing documents to submit to the competent authority for review and processing in accordance with regulations.
