The lawsuit was filed by Alexander Morris in court this past Monday. In fact, the incident occurred in April 2023, but Morris only decided to file the lawsuit now due to the traumatic experience he endured.
During the examination, Morris was experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing. While discussing his work and the anxieties he often faces due to stalkers and overzealous fans, Morris revealed this information to the doctor.
Upon hearing Morris disclose this information, the attending doctor concluded that Morris exhibited signs of delusional behavior.
The Four Tops group has been active since the 1950s and has produced hits such as "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and "It's The Same Old Song." Morris joined the group in 2019.
According to Morris, despite having his identification documents on him to easily prove his identity and occupation as a singer, he was not given the opportunity to explain himself. Morris was forcefully restrained, held in the hospital, and had his personal belongings confiscated for a period of time.
Finally, a female nurse recognized Morris as a member of the Four Tops group, leading to the cancellation of the doctor's mental health evaluation request. Following the incident, the hospital offered Morris a $25 gift voucher as an apology, which he refused to accept. In response to Morris' recent lawsuit, the hospital declined to comment.
